Missing Data
Warning
- The assessment of missing values is based on the date of surgery, not on the date of registration.
Perioperative Subprocess
- 19 variables across the Perioperative Subprocess (Preop, Surgery, Postop, Readmission and 90-day Status) are evaluated.
Oncology Subprocess
- 12 variables across the Oncology Subprocess (Diagnosis and Follow-up) are evaluated.
- Only procedures with diagnosis group of Primary Malignant Tumour are included.
Recruitment Timing
Warning
- Audit of Recruitment Timing is limited to the use of the REDCap Platform.
- All the calculus to evaluate quality of recruitment timing do not consider second or consecutive procedures on the same patient.
Recruitment Activity
- Interactive plot illustrating the timing of recording activity by department throughout 2025.
- Long flat segments combined with steep ones should indicate poor recruitment timing quality.
- Since the surgical procedures are not necessarily expected to have been performed in 2025, smoothly rising lines would require short recruitment delays in order to reflect high recruitment timing quality.
Tip

Recruitment Delay
- Recruitment delay refers to the number of days elapsed between the date of surgery and the date the procedure was recorded in the REDCap platform.
- Only procedures performed in 2025 and initially included in REDCap (not in the previous platform) are considered.
Recruitment Rates
Warning
- Annual Recruitment Rates are determined from reports by the Administrative Departments at each centre. Download the template with the information requested from this link.
- Recruitment rates are based on the number of lobectomies and pneumonectomies reported and the number of such procedures included in ReSECT for a given year. Segmentectomies are not audited because there is not any specific CIE-10 code for it.
Surgical Activity
- This plot illustrates the timing of surgical activity by department throughout 2025.Whenever recruitment rates are not audited, multiple wide gaps between points could serve as a surrogate, suggesting poor rates.
