Presentation
The Registry of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery (ReSECT) is a project promoted by the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery constituted in January 2022. This project involves the creation of a permanent and dynamic registry of the surgical activity of thoracic surgery in Spain.
ReSECT is a clinical registry based on surgical procedures, aimed at members of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery (SECT), specialists and residents of thoracic surgery with professional practice in Spain.
ReSECT project in its protocol version 1.1 (10/08/2022), has the favourable opinion of the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Aragon (CEICA).
ReSECT was registered on the Clinical Trials.gov platform in October 2022 (NCT05600569), with prospective patient recruitment beginning on 1 January 2023.
Objectives
To promote a better quality of care in Spanish thoracic surgery.
To promote more efficient research through a common platform for the development of future multicentre studies of Spanish thoracic surgery.
To collaborate with the professional activity of the members of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery.
To collaborate with other national and international registries.
Design
ReSECT is an observational study, based on surgical procedures, comprising two REDCap Projects
ReSECT Operative Log: personal registry of surgical activity of the participating professionals (retrospective and prospective nature).

ReSECT Process: registry of surgical procedures for the participating thoracic surgery departments (prospective nature).
